40: Preservation: East Lancashire Railway - by Steve Crabtree
Welcome
Hello, welcome to my website (started March 3rd, 2007).
I intend to build up a library of railway images taken from my photographic collection during the 1960s onwards. I live in Halifax, West Yorkshire, hence lots of photos from Mirfield and Leeds areas. At first I had a Kodak box camera, however I soon went on to a Yashica twin lens relflex camera (1962/63) which was very reliable though quite large. I went to 35mm in 1964 with dreadful results using a Mamiya SLR (not sure of model) - hence few pics from this year. Eventually got better results from this camera. Then in late 1966 I obtained a Minolta SR1 camera. This produced excellent photographs and I used it until well into the 1990s. Currently I have a wonderful digital Canon EOS 10D (with 14-50mm, 50mm and 75-300mm lenses) and also a Minolta Z1 - which, for a compact camera, produces some really good results - and has an incredible x10 zoom.

Thank you for visiting this site.

Taken near Heaton Lodge Junction, Mirfield, on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009.
First we see a Leeds to Manchester Transpennine unit followed by the Stockport to Scunthorpe bins train behind 66581 Sophie.
After a pleasant 30min walk down the Calder and Hebble canal it was time for the return
working (which pass each other around Wakefield) to come through behind 66526 named Driver Steve Dunn (George)
