August 24th, 1974: Class 47 47277 of Knottingley on 5 Road at 55A Leeds Holbeck. Behind is local engine 45013. The flashing light on the cab roof denotes it was fitted for slow speed running on MGR trains. |
November 2nd, 1972: Leeds Holbeck with immaculate looking Class 47 1534 (47426) of Gateshead in the then new blue livery. The engine is stood on No1 fuel road (known as The Pot by Holbeck men). The locomotive eventually wore the large logo livery and in 1986 went to Tinsley where the name Dibatag was neatly painted to it. In 1991 it went to Old Oak and in 1993 was withdrawn (cut up May 1997) |
August 16th, 1972: Class 47 1780 at its home depot, 55A Leeds Holbeck. The locomotive became 47185 in 1973, then 47602 in 1983 (and named Glorious Devon in 85). Then in 1989 it became 47824 and its final number was 47782 in 1994. It was cut up in 2007 |

April 19th, 1967: 9F 2-10-0 92151 (8H) has just passed Bingley heading for Leeds with this oil train during its last few days of service. The engine was withdrawn before the end of the month |

March 6th, 1967: Holbeck Peak D14 (later 45015) is just south of Bingley (location known as Dowley Gap) making for Leeds with the Thames Clyde express |
March 6th, 1967: This was the last time I ever saw Jubilee 45647 Sturdee (55C) - seen heading a freight towards Leeds just south of Bingley on a Monday evening. The engine was withdrawn the following month. The freight train also visible having just passed was hauled by 43077 (55F) |

September 13th, 1966: Britannia 70026 Polar Star (9B Stockport) at 55C Farnley. The engine looked very clean in unlined green livery and painted name and was travelling at a reasonable speed when this was taken. It was withdrawn at the end of the year, this my last sighting |

July 13th, 1966: On most visits to 55C Farnley only steam locos were to be seen. However, on this Wednesday in 1966 EE Type 3 D6793 (51L Thornaby) was on shed. The engine later became 37093 and subsequently 37509. Sorry about the poor quality, the negative is in very poor condition |
