June 29th, 1975: SR Battle of Britain unrebuilt Pacific 34073 249 Squadron at Barry in 1975. I saw this engine on 70A Nine Elms back in 1963. Section 30 has a recent picture of the engine still awaiting restoration on the East Lancs Railway. The Jinty behind is 47406

March 6th, 1973: D10 Tryfan passes Toton depot with a coal train. That day all but one (D7) Class 44s were seen with D3 and D6 still in green

February 17th, 1973: Hymek D7055 leaves Paddington for Worcester. This was an elusive class for me and was the only one I managed to photograph - just before the last few were withdrawn from service. 7055 survived just two more months

July 11th, 1964: Shrewsbury depot - taking water is Hall 6933 Birtles Hall (84E). This was the only colour shot I took in 1964 - taken while en route to a holiday in Tenby

June 2nd, 1963: Perhaps not the best of photographs but nevertheless the only one I took of an unrebuilt BB class engine - 34066 Spitfire (83D) is inside 70A Nine Elms depot
