The Nene Valley Railway runs between Peterborough and Yarwell Junction. Its headquarters are at Wansford.

Behind the Class 31 is Class 37 37518. This engine was originally D6776 / 37076 - which I saw at Berwick in 1974 and then at Mirfield 4 times between 1986 and 1988 (Thornaby based)

Class 50 50008 (Thunderer). I saw this engine three times during BR days - all when it was unnamed and Crewe based. During 1968 it was seen twice at Farrington Junction, Preston, on expresses (one double-heading D1840). The last sighting was more unusual -  at West Vale, near Halifax, heading a fitted freight east towards Healey Mills on January 27, 1976.
Class 50 50008 (Thunderer). I saw this engine three times during BR days - all when it was unnamed and Crewe based. Standard Class 5 73050 City of Peterborough. This was the best angle I could get. The engine was based on the Western Region for many years but transferred to Agecroft, Manchester, in 1966. where I saw it during September of that year. The only other time I saw the engine was at Patricroft depot on the last day it was open, July 5th, 1968, the engine was in store having been withdrawn during the previous month
