November 14th, 1966: EE Type 4 D390 (with D352 to left) on 56D Mirfield depot a month before it closed. See note
14th November 1966
Diesels were first seen on a regular basis at this depot from August 1966 - for crew training purposes.
On the day this photo was taken, November 14, 1966, the following engines were on shed: 42116 (56F), 45139 (9B), unusual 61035 Pronghorn (in the yard at the back of depot, took a photo but did not come out very well, will appear on this site in due course), 92211 (56A) and the three EE Type 4s on this picture - the one poking out of depot is D282. I visited the shed twice more before it closed to steam at the end of the year.
The photograph had received 103 hits up to the end of May 2007 when Fotopic accidentally reset it to 0
